 Earn Council's Own Badges

In addition to the GSUSA recognitions and programs, we offer patches called our "Council's Own" badges that are available for girls both in and outside GSHG to earn.

GSHG Council’s Own Badges to be Updated or Retired Soon
GSUSA has recently published updated standards for Council’s Own badges, and as a result the Council’s Own badges offered by Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia will be going through updates soon, and some of them will be retired.  These changes will bring our Council’s Own badges up to the national Girl Scout Leadership Experience Program standards, and eliminate some duplication.  In addition, Council’s Owns will now be experiences that are unique to our council.

The following GSHG Council’s Own badges will have updated requirements in the future:
•    INK
•    Preserving Girl Scout History
•    Coastal Georgia
•    Daisy’s Neighborhood
•    Savannah Safari
•    Geocaching

Our patch and pin programs will undergo updates.  We will not retire any of these at this time.
•    Dahlonega and Lumpkin County History patch
•    Hometown Heroes patch
•    Adult patches for Savannah programs
•    Diversity pin
•    Savannah Sings pin

If you are willing to serve on a volunteer committee to assist with these updates, or have any suggestions, comments or concerns please contact Betsy Connell at bconnell@gshg.org or Jami Brantley at jbrantley@gshg.org.  Thank you!
