Appreciation Pin Award

The Appreciation Pin recognizes an individual’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This service, which has had measurable impact on at least 1/2 of a Service Area, helps the council reach its mission-delivery goals for that area.

Honor Pin

The Honor Pin recognizes a registered adult Girl Scout's exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) which has had measurable impact on at least one Service Area, allowing the council to reach and surpass its mission-delivery goals.

President's Award

The President’s Award recognizes teams or committees (Service Area Teams and/or Other Teams or Committees) whose exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience surpassed team goals and resulted in significant, measurable impact toward reaching the council’s overall goals.

Thanks Badge

The Thanks Badge honors an individual, active, registered adult Girl Scout whose ongoing commitment, leadership, and service have had an exceptional, measurable impact on meeting the missiondelivery goals and priorities of the entire council or the entire Girl Scout Movement that is so significantly above and beyond the call of duty that no other award would be appropriate.

Thanks Badge II

The Thanks Badge II honors a previous Thanks Badge recipient who has continued to provide exemplary service in a leadership role, resulting in a measurable impact that benefits the entire council or the entire Girl Scout Movement that is so significantly above and beyond the call of duty that no other award would be appropriate.

Volunteer of Excellence Award

The Volunteer of Excellence recognizes a volunteer who has contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience or who have contributed outstanding support of the council’s mission-delivery to girl and adult members. There are two versions of this award—one focusing on service directly to girls and the other focusing on service to adults. A volunteer may be selected for the award twice (once for service to girls and once for service to adults).

Be A Sister Award

The Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout Award recognizes an adult Girl Scouts who respect diversity and demonstrates inclusive behavior while providing outstanding service in one of more mission-delivery goals.

Community Service Award

The Community Service Award recognizes a non-member, business, educational institution or other civic/ community organization that has demonstrated outstanding service and support of Girl Scouting in the community and whose support impacted at least one Service Area.

Courage, Confidence and Character Award

The Courage, Confidence and Character Award recognizes adult Girl Scouts who have demonstrated courage, confidence, and character in providing service to Girl Scouting while overcoming adversity or challenges.

Mickey Hess Award

The Mickey Hess Award recognizes an individual adult Girl Scout or a team who has been instrumental in organizing or substantially increasing participation in Girl Scouting in an underserved area for at least three years.

Newcomer Award

The Newcomer Award recognizes volunteers who have served in a position new to them for at least one year but less than two years and fulfills the duties of that position in an exceptional manner. [NOTE: This award may be earned multiple times—each for work in a different (and new) position to the individual.]

Outdoor Enthusiast Award

The Outdoor Enthusiast Award recognizes an adult Girl Scouts who have provided exceptional service that furthers outdoor education for girl and adult Girl Scouts.

Spirit Award

The Spirit Award recognizes adult Girl Scouts who have motivated and inspired others through their continuous positive attitude. 
*Requires Approval of the Council Recognitions Committee

Sustained Service Award

The Sustained Service Award recognizes a Girl Scout volunteers who have continued to provide exemplary service at the Service Area level or beyond for at least an additional three years after receiving the Appreciation or Honor Pin.

Year Round Volunteer Recognition

Throughout the year, Service Area Leadership Teams are encouraged to recognize the outstanding support and service of volunteers in their area. These awards do not require a nomination and can be presented at any time during the year at Service Area Meetings or Court of Awards Ceremonies. Click here for more details!
