Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia thanks you for your continued commitment to G.I.R.L.s everywhere and wants to recognize your outstanding contribution throughout the year and at our annual award ceremonies.

Annual Volunteer Recognition

Appreciation Pin Award

The Appreciation Pin recognizes an individual’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This service, which has had measurable impact on one geographic area of service, helps the council reach its mission delivery goals for that area. 


Be A Sister Award

The Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout Award recognizes someone who respects diversity and demonstrates inclusive behavior while providing outstanding service in one or more of the following areas: Membership Development/ Community Cultivation; Volunteer Relations and Support; Program; Leadership and Governance; Fund Development; Council Support Service (such as IT, Customer Service, Merchandising, Marketing and Communications).


Community Service Award

The Community Service Award recognizes a non-member, business, educational institution or other civic/community organization that has demonstrated outstanding service and support of Girl Scouting in the community. 


Courage, Confidence and Character Award

The Courage, Confidence, and Character Award recognizes someone who has demonstrated courage, confidence, and character in providing service to Girl Scouting while overcoming adversity or challenges.


Daisy's Leadership Pin - Service Area Level

Daisy's Leadership Pin recognizes an adult volunteer registered and active with the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia council who has served as a troop leader or co-leader in GSHG for three completed years.


Honor Pin

The Honor Pin recognizes a registered adult Girl Scout's exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) which has had measurable impact on two or more geographic areas of service, allowing the council to reach and surpass its mission delivery goals.


Mickey Hess Award

The Mickey Hess Award recognizes someone who has been instrumental in or organized a group that has substantially increased Girl Scouting in an underserved area for three years.


Newcomer Award

The Newcomer Award recognizes a volunteer who has served in a new position for not more than two years and has fulfilled her position in an exceptional manner.


Outdoor Enthusiast Award

The Outdoor Enthusiast Award recognizes someone who has provided outstanding service in a way that furthers outdoor education of girls and adults and has performed at a level that exceeds the expectations.


President's Award

The President's Award recognizes the efforts of a service-delivery team or committee whose exemplary service in support of the Girl Scout mission surpassed team goals and resulted in significant, measurable impact toward reaching the council's overall goals.


Volunteer Service Award Pin

The Volunteer Service Award Pin recognizes an adult member registered with the Girl Scouts of USA for her years of active volunteer service at five-year intervals.


Spirit Award

The Spirit Award recognizes someone who has motivated and inspired others through her continuous positive attitude.


Sustained Service Award

The Sustained Service Award recognizes an individual who has continued to volunteer at the service area level for an additional three years after receiving the Appreciation Pin and has demonstrated outstanding leadership.


Thanks Badge

The Thanks Badge honors individual, active, registered adult Girl Scouts whose ongoing commitment, leadership, and service have had an exceptional, measurable impact on meeting the mission delivery goals and priorities of the entire council or the entire Girl Scout movement.


Trained Volunteer Patch

Volunteers are eligible to purchase the Trained Volunteer Patch after completing Girl Scouting 101.


Volunteer of Excellence Award

The Volunteer of Excellence Award regonizes those volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through use of the national program portfolio or who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council's mission delivery to girl and adult members.

Year Round Volunteer Recognition

Throughout the year, Service Area Leadership Teams are encouraged to recognize the outstanding support and service of volunteers in their area. These awards do not require a nomination and can be presented at any time during the year at Service Area Meetings or Court of Awards Ceremonies. Click here for more details!
