It’s easy to volunteer - ready to get started?!

STEP 1:  Fill out Application
First, please fill out the Volunteer Application Form at the bottom of this pageAll membership and training registration and volunteer screening forms (Volunteer Application and Background Check) submitted should reflect exactly the same first and last names and addresses

STEP 2:  Complete Background Check
After completing the volunteer application below, you will automatically be redirected to the online background check.  Once your volunteer application and background screening have been completed, you will be notified by council staff of your approval. While your application and background check are being processed, you can begin to take training for the adventure that awaits you! No need to wait!

STEP 3:  Become a Member
If you have not yet registered and paid for your annual Girl Scout membership, please visit our eBiz Online Registration page to complete this step.

STEP 4:  Training
For most volunteer positions, your next step will be  to take Girl Scouting 101, which can be found online at http://training.girlscouts.org. This session is also available on CD. Contact your Membership Manager or staff support person for details. If you are volunteering as part of a troop leadership team, after completing GS101  you will need to take the New Leader Orientation at your earliest convenience. Please download Volunteer Essentials, which is a resource for volunteers serving girls and is an optional resource for volunteers who do not work directly with girls. Please review the QuickStart section and the Safety Chapter at your earliest convenience. Come back and review the other sections when you are ready for more.
