Georgia Power Invests $100,000 in the Future of Camp Tanglewood

Augusta, Georgia—Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia is proud to celebrate a $100,000 investment from Georgia Power in support of the Trails to Tomorrow Capital Campaign, an initiative designed to strengthen Camp Tanglewood and expand the opportunities available to girls for generations to come.
Georgia Power will present the $100,000 gift to Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia during a special check presentation at Camp Tanglewood on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Community leaders, partners, supporters, and members of the media are invited to join Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia in celebrating this significant investment.
The Trails to Tomorrow Capital Campaign is focused on building the next chapter of Camp Tanglewood. Through improvements to camp facilities and expanded spaces for programming, the campaign will help ensure girls continue to have access to meaningful outdoor experiences where they can build courage, confidence, independence, and leadership skills.
A key part of that vision is the Girl Scout DreamLab, a dedicated space designed to give girls opportunities to explore, create, collaborate, and turn their ideas into action. Alongside improvements throughout Camp Tanglewood, Girl Scout DreamLab represents the campaign’s commitment to creating spaces that meet the needs and interests of today’s girls while preparing for the Girl Scouts of tomorrow.
Georgia Power’s $100,000 contribution represents an important investment in that future and demonstrates the impact that strong community partnerships can have on the experiences available to girls across the region.
Camp Tanglewood has long provided a place for leadership development, outdoor education, friendship, and community building. The property continues to move forward following extensive damage caused by Hurricane Helene, which impacted cabins, infrastructure, and other areas throughout camp. The Trails to Tomorrow Capital Campaign builds upon that recovery by looking beyond restoration toward the long-term future of the property.
Following the approximately 30-minute check presentation, guests will have the option to participate in a tour of Camp Tanglewood and learn more about the vision behind Trails to Tomorrow and Girl Scout DreamLab.
