 Opportunities to Invest

With girls facing ever-increasing challenges, Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia is developing ever-increasing opportunities to support the needs and address the challenges girls are facing. Find the opportunities that appeal to you in supporting the nearly 20,000 Girl Scouts in Historic Georgia!

               •  General Operating Expenses
                   (annual giving campaign)
Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia will make sure that your donation is effectively invested
to change the lives of our girls.
               •  Friends of Girl Scouting
The Friends of Girl Scouting annual campaign is an organized, council-wide fundraising
campaign, carried out by adult volunteers to obtain financial support for a wide variety
of programs provided locally for Girl Scouts.
               •  Outreach Program Support

Outreach projects ensure that Girl Scouting is available to every girl, everywhere. Read
more about the council’s outreach initiatives.
               •  Give in Honor or Memory of Someone Special

Recognize that special someone that has made an impact on your life. Upon receipt
of a tribute gift, a thanks card will be sent to the honoree (or in the case of a memorial,
the honoree’s family), informing them that a gift has been received in their
               •  Company Match

Many employers will match charitable contributions through the company toward
employee designated contributions. Contact your Human Resources or Community
Relations office and ask them if they have a matching gifts program.
               •  Juliette Gordon Low Society

The Juliette Gordon Low (JGL) Society is a prestigious group of supports.  Benefits of
membership include a special Juliette Gordon Low Society Charter pin (for first year
donation) and lunch at one of our  Woman of Distinction Events.  Recognition includes
acknowledgement in the Annual Report, and a listing on the council website.  To become a
member of the Juliette Gordon Low Society, you must make a donation of $1,000 or
more during one calendar year.  Benefits apply to all donors for each year in which they
contribute financially to Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.
               •  Daisy Society

When a donation of $25.00 or more is made in honor of a girl to the Annual Giving
Campaign, the girl will receive a segment of the Daisy Society patch.  (One piece of the
patch can be received each calendar year.)  Donation may be made on the girl’s
registration form or at anytime during the calendar year. (Donations made other than at
the time of registration will need to have a note accompanying them.  The note needs to
include the name of the girl the gift is honoring and the girl’s troop number.)

                •  Send a Girl to Camp
Though the council works diligently to keep costs at a minimum, not all girls can afford                     to attend camp. Consider making a contribution that will send one or more girls to Girl
                    Scout summer camp.

                •  Founders’ Scholarship Fund
The Founders’ Scholarship Fund is an endowment set up to support college scholarships.
In the future, we hope to be able to provide college scholarships to deserving Girl Scouts.

                •  Women of Distinction Events
Our Women of Distinction events celebrate women who have distinguished themselves
as outstanding members of their community through individual excellence and high
                    levels of achievement.

                •  Remembering Girl Scouts in Your Will
Remember Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia in your will, charitable trust, a gift of life
insurance or other methods in your estate planning. Your support will ensure that Girl
Scouting remains available to Historic Georgia girls for generations to come.

                 •  Council Wish List
To help Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia meet the demands of our growing council, we are
in need of quality items that will help us serve every girl, everywhere.
