Becoming Me Series with Michelle Obama

This summer, we’re excited to collaborate with Penguin Random House and former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama to introduce the Becoming Me program, inspired by themes from Mrs. Obama’s Becoming: Adapted for Young Readers.

Through the Becoming Me program, girls will earn badges, and explore who they want to become through journaling.

Mrs. Obama knows what it means to find her voice and become more than she ever thought possible, and through the program, girls will unlock the power of their unique stories and embark on their journey to becoming their best selves.

We can't wait to meet you and share how Girl Scouts can brighten your girl's world. Join us for exciting events and get a taste of all the fun she'll have as a member.

Parents and girls, you're both invited to join us for virtual recruitment events or socially distanced in-person recruitment events in your area! Contact us to ask any questions.

Financial aid through GSHG:

Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia allocates funds for the sole purpose of assisting new members with paying their membership dues. These funds are limited and granted based upon a specific set of criteria.

When assessing if a girl qualifies for financial aid, we take into consideration:
- the number of members in one family
- family income
- family employment status
- whether a troop/girl is a re-registering Girl Scout

To apply, please complete our Financial Aid Application.

How will I know if I'm chosen to receive aid from GSHG?

Approvals are sent for processing with no formal notification sent. If a request is denied, a notification will be sent to the applicant/parent/guardian.
