The Student Conservation Association and GSUSA have collaborated in recent years to form the All Girl Crew, with the goal of exposing more girls to the benefits of spending time in nature. Last year, the All Girl Crew spent time in the Olympic National Forest on the Pacific Coast to work on conservation projects. This year, the All Girl Crew adventure will be in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in Cherokee, North Carolina from July 8-20 AND a second All Girl Crew has been added in collaboration with the Appalachian Mountain Club for July 20-27th in New Hampshire. The one week All Girl Crew in New Hampshire will be a little less primitive. Positions will be filled based on a first come, first serve basis. This is a primitive camping experience and girls will be tasked with a number of physical outdoor projects.
Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia is excited to offer this opportunity to one of our own this year. If you are or know a Girl Scout finishing 9th, 10th or 11th grade this year that would be interested in this extraordinary opportunity later this summer, please review the linked documents below.
There is no cost for the crew experience and there is a travel expense allotment for the girl's travel. For questions related to this opportunity, please contact Director of Program, Betsy Connell firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline to apply is Friday, May 17, 2019.
