troops on the move

1.  After earning their Painting badge, Girl Scout Brownie Troop #11919 of Braselton celebrated by attending a painting class where each girl selected a figurine to paint and take home.  Each girl also brought along a "Flat Juliette" they made as part of the "Sisterhood of Girl Scouting" project for a Cadette troop from New York.  The troop then made a scrapbook detailing their adventures and mailed it in time for K-Day, an annual event that honors a Girl Scout and her mother who were tragically killed by a drunk driver.

2.  After learning about how low the blood supply is in the state of Georgia, Cadette Troop #60504 from Warner Robins recently partnered with the Red Cross to plan, organize and host a record-breaking blood drive at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warner Robins for their Silver Award.  The girls toured the Red Cross blood processing center as part of their preparation, obtained numerous sponsors for their event and had over 100 people register to give blood on June 28th!

3.  After learning about camping, putting up tents, and cooking outdoors, Brownie Troop #12304 from Crawford recently put their new skills to use during their three-day camping trip at Stone Mountain Park. The troop had a wonderful time!  They enjoyed nature hikes, went swimming, and toured Stone Mountain.

4.  The summer Traveling Troop from the Augusta area recently visited their local Chik-fil-a where they took a tour, explored career opportunities, enjoyed some ice cream and made cow crafts.

Is your troop doing cool things? Take a photo and send it to tnobles@gshg.org.   Please be sure to include your troop number, where you're from and a short description of the event in your email.
Note: Only high-resolution photos can be used. Please do not send photo collages.
