Building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

 Girl Scout Brand Center

Girl Scouts is a beloved, iconic brand. Few brands are strong enough to be identified simply by a color or a shape, but we have both the unique shade of "Girl Scout green" and the singular Girl Scout Trefoil symbol working for us. These much-admired brand elements ensure that any of our branded items can be readily recognized as belonging to Girl Scouts. With everything we create, we aim to stay true to our brand and the values it represents--leadership, sisterhood, and inclusion.

All Girl Scout products, and the images and phrases featured on these products, serve to enhance Girl Scouts' brand voice and mission. These products and their identifying marks continue to speak to the general public long after an event or project has ended. We need to be clear and consistent about the messages our products and designs convey to Girl Scouts, potential Girl Scouts, and non-Girl Scouts.

Everyone in Girl Scouting--including our partners--has a role in protecting the Girl Scout name and marks against unauthorized, inconsistent, and unlicensed use. Careful presentation of our products and our messages safeguards and strengthens the overall brand. The importance of such vigilance cannot be overstated.

USING THE GIRL SCOUT BRAND:

1.  Service Unit and Troop Activity/Event Flyers - Service unit and troop volunteers are welcome to create their own flyers using the guidelines outlined below.

2.  T-Shirts, Patches and Other Branded Items - Please remember that you must go to a Girl Scout licesned vendor to have any materials produced. To begin this process please contact Rosalee Bryant, Retail Sales Team Leader, at rbryant@gshg.org. Don't forget to check out our great selection at our council shop! You might just find what you're looking for there.

3.  Branding Questions - Take a closer look at GSUSA's complete branding guidelines by downloading the Brand Cheat Sheet.  If you still have questions, please contact Tara Nobles, Senior Manager of Creative Services, at tnobles@gshg.org.

4. Girl Scout Logos:
The Girl Scout logo must be placed on the far LEFT side of every page, flyer, document, etc.  Make sure to leave adequate white space around the logo to avoid "crowding" the logo. GSUSA reccomends to leave at least the same amount of white space around it as the "g". Do NOT stretch or modify logos or servicemarks in any way. Download logos and servicemarks below.

5.  Referencing Our Name:
When mentioning our name in copy use either "Girl Scouts" or "Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia." Use initial caps in all text. (Only the logo image should be lowercase.)

6.  Required Fonts:
Girls, troops, volunteers, etc. are to use to the Arial font and its variations for any design materials that are created.

7.  Colors:
    •    Black
    •    White
    •    Green (#00ae58 or r0 g174 b88 or pms 355)
Girl Scouts and green go together. To ensure that we continue to claim the color and to solidify our identity, embrace green. Be sure to include the "official" green in every piece you produce.

Photos:
Choosing photos to use for your piece is extremely important. Remember to focus on moments that matter, we want the world to see and feel for themselves all of the amazing things our girls are doing and showcase the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.   Energy, eye contact, and environment should all be considered when selecting the perfect photograph. When cropping a photograph, the ratio of subject to background should be 80/20. An image with 80 percent girl and 20 percent background will feel immediate and personal. An image with 20 percent girl and 80 percent background will show context and showcase activities.
