Building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

 Global Green Team

Hi! Welcome to our website, powered by The Alcoa Foundation!  We are the Global Green Team, a group of 11 girls who are passionate about making a difference in our environment.  For the past year, we have been hard at work planning Take Action projects in our own communities, and this July we have the amazing opportunity to travel to Italy so that we can take part in projects focused on global environmental issues!

On this website you can find information about us, our projects, and even ways you can get involved in helping to make the world a better place.  Feel free to stay awhile and look around.  We’re so glad you stopped by - “Arrivederci!”

I’ve been a Girl Scout for over 10 years and am currently a Girl Scout Senior. I love roller-skating, bowling, and spending time on the internet. At school, I am a part of a media broadcasting program, so I love filming and editing videos. My favorite subject is math, but my favorite class is broadcasting video production. I joined the Global Green Team because in the modern world, people are losing touch with nature and the environment. I believe being in this group could help me bring that touch back.

I’m 17 years old, and I have three siblings, one sister who is 15 and two brothers that are 16 and 12. I also have two dogs, Layla and Roxie, and two guinea pigs, Carmel and Truffle. I attend Greenbrier High School where I'm in 11th grade. I’m involved in a bunch of stuff at my school. I’m in the band and participate in the marching band during football season. I run track and play basketball, I am the president of a club called Redefining Beautiful, and I’m a member of the BETA club and the French Honor Society. I absolutely love the sciences and I plan to be an ecologist when I graduate college. It’s my dream to travel the world and study different animals and plants, and I will do whatever it takes to achieve it!

I decided to join this team because I love the outdoors! I love hiking and kayaking and being around nature. Indoors, I also enjoy painting, photography, and eating grilled cheese and tomato soup! My project focuses on air pollution. To help my project take off I’m going to start posting useful tips on how to keep your home energy efficient, as well as your workplace and any other place you go in your car! I hope that you will take my advice and help keep you and your family energy efficient, and then spread the word!

Bonjourno! I'm 16 years old, and I've been a Girl Scout for 10 years. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, reading, horseback riding, and other extracurricular activities at my school. I joined the Global Green Team because it provided the opportunity for me to make a difference in the world and help the environment. It also provided the opportunity for me to travel out of country, something I have always wanted to do. My project was "Earth Day." I created a program that taught the younger Girl Scouts in my county about rain gardens, energy saving, and waste reduction. They each got a goodie bag, a miniature rain garden in a jar, and a bracelet that they made to remind them of Earth Day. They also signed the Forever Green Pledge and promised to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

I’m currently a Girl Scout Senior, and I have been a Girl Scout for eight years. I wanted to be on the Global Green Team because I have a sincere passion for protecting the environment. Eliminating waste from landfills is my main concern about the environment, and I have conducted several projects focusing on this issue. Apart from Girl Scouts, I play the viola, run cross-country, and dance. I am involved in the Youth Symphony of Greater Columbus, the Youth Advisory Council, and the Green Club (an environmental awareness club) at school, in which I am co-president. In my free time, I love to read, watch movies, and shop!

Hello, everyone! I am a Girl Scout Senior and I have been in Girl Scouting for five years now. I go to Islands High School, and I am in the ninth grade. I love dancing and cheering. I also love science and math. Most of all, I love the environment. Helping the environment is one of my life goals. That's why I joined this group. The Global Green Team is an amazing thing to do.

Hi! I am a 14-year-old Girl Scout Senior. I have been a Girl Scout since I was 6 years old, and I have earned my Bronze and Silver awards, and I am currently working on my Gold Award! I am very involved in my community as a volunteer for many organizations. I joined this team because I saw this as a wonderful opportunity to interact with girls from around the world. In recent years, I have developed an interest for marine biology. My project is on the conservation of the ocean and sea turtles. At home I am an active dancer and enjoy teaching this beautiful art to the youngest dancers at my dance school. I also enjoy reading, writing, acting, and modeling. I hope that our projects inspire you to go out and make the world a better place.

I am a Girl Scout Senior, and I am working on my Gold Award. My favorite color is purple, and my favorite animals are cats. In my free time I play goalie for my school soccer team as well as play the saxophone in the high school marching band. I wanted to be on the Global Green Team because I have a passion for the environment. As a part of the Green Team we have an opportunity to change the world in our own way for the betterment of the environment.

I'm an 11th grader at Madison County High School, and I'm a Girl Scout Ambassador. I have been in Girl Scouts since the first grade. I love books, the color purple, and rainbows. I am a member of the high school band in which I play the french horn. I decided to join the Global Green Team because I have always been very interested in keeping the environment clean and recycling. My family has always been big on recycling and not throwing things away unnecessarily, so it seemed like a very good idea to help change the environment locally and globally with girls everywhere.
