    Grades 6-8Grades 9-10Grades 11-12

Scuba Diving is an opportunity to experience the underwater world. GSHG is partnering with the Albany “Dive Shop” to offer this NAUI certification class for Cadettes through Ambassadors.  Our instructor will be working with the girls in the classroom and in the pool at camp for the first few days; then the girls will travel to Panama City and spend 2 nights at a local camp ground to do 4 open water dives. Girls who complete this course will be certified to rent and participate on scuba trips offered by Girl Scouts and dive trips all over the world. When girls are not in the pool or class they will have all of camp to explore, as well as participate in activities such as art, archery, outdoor cooking, and canoeing. Instruction is provided by certified professionals at an introductory level which allows for “no one left behind” progression as a group.

*Campers must be able to swim and pass the deep water Girl Scout swim test.

A special open house will be offered for parents and girls to meet our instructor and to take the swim test. This meeting is not required to participate in this certification; however the swim test is required.
