  • Gold Award Training

    ​Training is required for girls working on their Girl Scout Gold or Silver Awards.  Bronze training is not required, but is recommended. Girls and adults are welcome at trainings. Cost is $5 per girl and includes materials. Awards training is free for adults.

  • Co-Ed Camporee

    ​Make new friends…and keep the old! Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venture Scouts from around Georgia will join together for one amazing camporee. The Black Creek Scout Reservation has all of your favorite outdoor adventure activities – archery, riflery, challenge course, canoes, fishing, and ziplines across the lake! Come for a weekend filled with scouts and activities of all kinds. Participants must bring their own camping gear and tents. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will have separate tent areas.

This is a three- part series; in this session, you’ll learn Girl Scout songs in sign language.

    ​This late-night funfest is only for older girls! Hang out and relax around a campfire, sleep under the stars or play games at night. Sleep in the next morning and cook your own breakfast. Girls will cook out, work on craft projects and make lots of new friends! Work on Activities from the “Night Owl” skill builder badge for Cadettes, “Sky” skill builder badge for Seniors, and “Water” skill builder badge for Ambassadors.

  • Session 1T Troop Camp: We are Family-Fun with your Girl Scout Sisters

  • Session 2 Resident Camp: Water Cycle Week- Beach Cruising Week

    ​Like the beach? Snorkeling? Taking long bike rides? This week is for you! Learn to snorkel with a professional dive instructor. Don’t worry if you don’t own a snorkel; the camp fee includes your own snorkel set and rash guard shirt. After two fun days at camp, we’ll take off for the beach. We’ll travel just past Tallahassee, Florida, then start our first biking adventure on the St.Marks Trail, where we’ll check out the lighthouse and wildlife refuge. Our group will travel on to Saint Joseph State Park at Cape San Blas for a two night camp out. We’ll pitch our own tent, cook our own food, snorkel in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, and explore the state park. On Friday, we’ll say goodbye to the beach and travel back to camp with wonderful tales of adventure. Bring your own bike and helmet. Your bike should work well and be the right size. You must be
    physically able to ride 8 to 10 miles. Cadettes will work on their “Trailblazing” badge. Seniors will work on the “Adventurer” badge. Seniors will work on the “Water” badge.

  • Session 2 Resident Camp: Saddles, Paddles and Arrows

    ​Each day you’ll make your way to Foxboro Farms to develop your riding technique, and learn proper handling and grooming of a horse. After lunch you’ll learn how to tip a canoe – on purpose! Hone your skills in archery, and lead younger girls using what you’ve learned. This session is for beginner riders. On Friday, girls
    will have the opportunity to meet the hounds that Foxboro takes fox hunting and walk them out on horseback. Horse instruction provided by the trained and professional staff at Foxboro Farms.

  • Session 2 & 3 Resident Camp: Counselor in Training Program-Two Week Training Session

    ​Love camp but want more responsibility? Like teaching younger girls? If so, the C-I-T program is for you! Have fun learning leadership skills and teamwork during this 2-week program. During the first week, we’ll learn how to write lesson plans and risk management programs for activities. C-I-Ts will study age group characteristics and how they apply to age appropriate planning. There will be plenty of breaks, during which you’ll will enjoy traditional camp activities such as swimming, camp fires and archery. The second week of the C-I-T program, you will be applying what you’ve learned by working alongside a staff member to mentor and teach a group of younger girls.

    ​If you’ve already taken the CIT class and want to come back to camp to further your skills, you can become a CIT intern. You’ll work directly with a staff member to plan and execute activities for your assigned group for the week. You’ll spend your days leading songs and games and getting to know the girls in your unit.
    They’ll count on you to cheer them as they accomplish a new challenge or help them get through a bought of homesickness. This experience will help you truly understand what it means to be a camp counselor.

  • Session 4T Troop Camp: Dr. Zoolittle: A Troop Camping Adventure

    ​Take your troop on an animal exploration for three days. Meet animals from dogs to dairy cattle, and lizards to bats, discovering their habitat, and the part each plays in ours. On Monday night we’ll come together for Camp Tanglewood’s first ever Doggie Fashion Show (K-9 companion provided). Troops will complete
    a service project for a local organization benefiting animals! Each grade level will earn their Animals Badge and enjoy swimming every day.

  • Session 5 Resident Camp: Senior/Ambassador- Night Sparklers

    ​Spend a week at camp staying up late and sleeping in! As a special older girl treat, you‘ll have the privilege of sleeping in the climate-controlled sleeping quarters. We’ll visit a planetarium to explore the night sky and the world of astronomy and make our own sky art. We’ll enjoy traditional camp activities like swimming, canoeing and archery. Part of everyday will be spent doing what you choose – taking a jaunt off-camp, chilling in your sleeping quarters, or creating a cool art project. We’ll finish out the week with a
    camp-wide, glow-in-the-dark game. Show younger campers what it takes to win!

  • Session 6 Resident: Taking the Higher Ground Week- On Belay

    ​Kick off your week with games that will help you get to know your team and the other campers.  Next, you’ll learn safety skills, challenge the high ropes course and practice on a climbing tower.  On Thursday we’ll be off to Cheaha State Park in Alabama where
    you’ll put your skills to work during an overnight camping trip and rock climbing adventure! Cadettes will work on the “Tree” badge and “Cadette First Aid” badge. Seniors will work on “Adven-
    turer” and “Senior First Aid” badges. Ambassadors will work on “Ambasssador First Aid”.

  • Session 6 Resident: Taking the Higher Ground Week- Drill Baby Dricll
    CadetteGrades 6-8SeniorGrades 9-10AmbassadorGrades 11-12

    ​You’ll improve your riding skills and focus on drill team riding during these four daily riding and ground lessons. Gain control as you practice handling your horse around other horses and riding in
    formation. Become a true partner to both your new two-legged and four-legged friends. When you are not at the stables you’ll enjoy swimming and other traditional camp activi- ties. Juniors will work
    on the “Animal Habitat” badge.  Cadettes will work on the “Animal Helpers” badge. Prerequisite: At least one week of horse pro- gramming or equestrian manager approval for equivalent experience.   • Uniquely Me Extravaganza

    ​To be “unique” means to be unlike anyone else; is this mission possible? The 2015 Uniquely ME Extravaganza “Mission Impossible Edition” will be an event like nothing else. The mission begins the moment girls step foot on campus. Girls from around the council will gather with new friend-agents and have several missions to complete. Each team’s mission will consist of top secret activities dealing with the arts of dance, cooking, painting and more. To complete the mission and come out on top, you must discover your uniqueness. You don’t want to miss this unforgettable competitive event!

    ​An alarming statistic: one in three highschool students have been or will be involved in an abusive relationship. In this program, girls will learn about the many facets of relational aggression including cyberbullyiing, toxic friendships, risk factors, power and control, and the cycle of abuse. Girls will be given the tools to recognize what comprises a healthy relationship and how to avoid troublesome ones. They’ll learn how not to accept relational aggression from others, and to build better relationships with everyone around them.

    ​Celebrate Juliette Low’s birthday in style. We’ll visit the buildings that were important to her, tour the city that she loved so much by trolley, and earn a badge along the way. Saturday night we’ll become anyone we imagine and dance the night away at a true masquerade birthday ball. Troops will also have the option of participating in other Savannah Girl Scout activities including: earning your Coastal Georgia badge on a dolphin tour and joining the Girl Scout Militia at Old Fort Jackson.

    ​In honor of National Family Awareness Month, Girl Scout families are invited to a family campout. Enjoy archery, ropes and challenge courses, arts and crafts, fishing, and a hoedown at the main fire ring. Saturday morning, we’ll hike to Dowdell’s Knob. A hot breakfast will be provided; troops and families are responsible for lunch and dinner, which they may cook outdoors. On Sunday, you may choose to visit nearby Roosevelt State Park. Families may bring their own tents or trailers or reserve a cabin or treehouse. *Activities are subject to change*
