  • Signing For the World to See - Part 1

    ​Do you know American Sign Language? Learn to communicate with people who speak this special language and who want to be your friends. Learn the Girl Scout Promise and Law and Girl Scout songs in sign language. Tamecia K. Wright, an interpreter who is skilled in making learning fun, will be your dynamic instructor. This is a three-part series; in this session, you’ll learn the basics, including the alphabet, your name and the Girl Scout Promise. This inspiring program will open a whole new world of communication to you! Snacks available.

  • St. Patrick's Day Parade

    ​The St. Patrick’s Day parade in Savannah is one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the nation. Let’s show the crowd what Savannah means to Girl Scouts! Bring your troop and join us to show off our Girl Scout spirit. Specific meeting place information will be available 3 weeks prior to the event. Everyone who participates in the parade will receive a St. Patrick’s Day patch.

    CadetteGrades 6-8

    ​Training is required for girls working on their Girl Scout Gold or Silver Awards.  Bronze training is not required, but is recommended. Girls and adults are welcome at trainings. Cost is $5 per girl and includes materials. Awards training is free for adults.

  • Princess Boot Camp for Troops
    BrownieGrades 2-3JuniorGrades 4-5CadetteGrades 6-8

    ​Challenge yourself during this weekend adventure. Become one of the few who can shoot a bow, cook in tin foil, and make it through a challenge course, all while wearing a tutu that you’ll make yourself! We’ll honor our country and our military during a special campfire ceremony on Friday night. On Saturday, your troop will enjoy challenging camp activities, then we’ll pamper our “princess” selves during a special spa night. A t-shirt, program supplies and meals (breakfast, lunch, & dinner on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday) are included. Prerequisite: troops should have previous experience with weekend camping, and at least one leader with camp training and current First Aid/CPR certfication.

  • Girl Power: Unleash the Possibilities!
    CadetteGrades 6-8SeniorGrades 9-10AmbassadorGrades 11-12AdultAdults

    ​A WomenSource workshop for middle school and high school girls and the women who love them!

    If you are a mom, grandmom, aunt, youth leader, teacher, mentor, or friend of a youth-age girl - this is a Free event for the both of you to attend together!

    This 1/2 day workshop includes a general session, break-out sessions, lunch and door prizes for the girls.

    Focus on goal setting: personal, academic, social, long and short-term goal setting for middle and high school girls.

    Pre-registration is required.

    This event is made possible by the United Way of Hall County Community Investment Grant.

  • Beauty and the Beast

    ​Storyland Theater presents “Beauty and the Beast, the musical”, a fractured fairytale musical at GRU Augusta Maxwell Performing arts Theatre.  Storyland Theater presents this original play based on the traditional story of Beauty and the Beast. Come and join us for a wonderful play with your troop or family and come meet the actors after the show.

  • FULL - Shoot the Bow

    ​Have you ever wanted to learn the proper way to shoot a bow and arrow? Have you ever wondered why arrows have feathers and why one is a different color from the others? Learn the answers to these questions and much more when you come out to “Shoot the Bow!” Experience the thrill of hitting the bull’s eye while having fun playing archery games. Fun patch included.

  • Mommy & Me Cake Boss

    ​Spend a day at camp learning basic cake decorating skills and then putting them to the test in the first ever CMJ cake decorating contest. You provide the unfrosted cake and any decorations you want to use to decorate your cake. We’ll provide the frosting with any color you can imagine for your cake. While you enjoy the lunch we provide, local celebrities will judge the cakes. 1st , 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded for each Girl Scout program level and we’ll award a ribbon for the most creative and the most unique. Additionally you’ll get a chance to vote for the people’s choice cake. The official rules will be included with your confirmation. Will yours be the winning cake?

  • District Girl Scout Silver Award Training
    CadetteGrades 6-8

    When a girl is ready to go for Girl Scouting’s highest awards, she must first take the required training.   Cadettes (grades 6, 7, 8) may take the Girl Scout Silver Award training; Seniors (grade 9, 10) and Ambassadors (grades 11, 12) may take the Girl Scout Gold Award training.  Cost for these classes is $5 per girl and includes the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia Award Planner.  Leaders/advisors are invited to attend at no charge.

  • Afternoon at Camp Low

    ​Have you ever wondered what it’s like to attend Girl Scout camp? Perhaps you have, but you’d like to share the experience with your family or friends. Enjoy an afternoon at Camp Low on Rose Dhu Island in Savannah participating in your favorite camp activities: arts and crafts, archery, challenge course, campfire songs and s’mores, and more! Meet camp counselors, check out platform tents and cabins and visit the dining lodge as you tour the camp and get a sneak peek at the summer camp program for 2015. Concessions will be available benefiting the Camp Low Adopt-a-Camp committee to make improvements to Camp Low! **Those who attend will be entered into a drawing to win a coupon for half off one week of camp at any Girl Scout of Historic Georgia camp THIS summer!

  • Co-Ed Camporee

    ​Make new friends…and keep the old! Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venture Scouts from around Georgia will join together for one amazing camporee. The Black Creek Scout Reservation has all of your favorite outdoor adventure activities – archery, riflery, challenge course, canoes, fishing, and ziplines across the lake! Come for a weekend filled with scouts and activities of all kinds. Participants must bring their own camping gear and tents. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will have separate tent areas.

  • Program Aide Training
    CadetteGrades 6-8

    ​Cadettes, take your leadership skills to the next level with Program Aide training! After you complete the training, you’re equipped to work with Daisies and Brownies in a troop, group, or council program setting. Share your enthusiasm for Girl Scouting with girls who look up to you for inspiration. Girls who complete PA Training have an opportunity to be Program Aides at any of Girl Scout of Historic Georgia’s Camps this summer for a reduced cost. To participate in this training you must first complete your LIA requirements.

  • Program Aide Training
    CadetteGrades 6-8

    ​​Cadettes, take your leadership skills to the next level with Program Aide training! After you complete the training, you’re equipped to work with Daisies and Brownies in a troop, group, or council program setting. You’ll be sharing your enthusiasm about all of the things that you love about Girl Scouting with girls who look up to you for inspiration.   • Session 2 Resident Camp: Water Cycle Week- Beach Cruising Week

    ​Like the beach? Snorkeling? Taking long bike rides? This week is for you! Learn to snorkel with a professional dive instructor. Don’t worry if you don’t own a snorkel; the camp fee includes your own snorkel set and rash guard shirt. After two fun days at camp, we’ll take off for the beach. We’ll travel just past Tallahassee, Florida, then start our first biking adventure on the St.Marks Trail, where we’ll check out the lighthouse and wildlife refuge. Our group will travel on to Saint Joseph State Park at Cape San Blas for a two night camp out. We’ll pitch our own tent, cook our own food, snorkel in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, and explore the state park. On Friday, we’ll say goodbye to the beach and travel back to camp with wonderful tales of adventure. Bring your own bike and helmet. Your bike should work well and be the right size. You must be
    physically able to ride 8 to 10 miles. Cadettes will work on their “Trailblazing” badge. Seniors will work on the “Adventurer” badge. Seniors will work on the “Water” badge.

    ​Open up a new underwater world by discovering scuba diving. In this sampler experience, you will spend your week snorkeling in the pool. On land, you’ll learn the language of diving before your scuba experience in the pool. You will get acquainted with the
    equipment, put it on, and test it out – flippers and all. Camp staples like swimming, archery, and canoeing are on the list, too! High adventure instruction will be provided by certified professionals at an introductory level.

    ​Explore the art of woodworking! Your unit will choose creative design activities like hammering your name into wood with nails or making a creative design out of nails. Then you’ll learn how to use a level and test each other’s skills. Once you master using some simple power tools you’ll decide as a group whether to build something small to take home or to build something more permanent to leave at camp for others to use. We’ll also enjoy traditional camp activities like swimming and archery.

    a service project for a local organization benefiting animals! Each grade level will earn their Animals Badge and enjoy swimming every day.

    Enjoy white water rafting on the Chattahoochee River, biking the trails at Callaway Gardens, and swimming at Callaway’s Aqua Land. Bring your own bike and helmet; your bike should work well and be the right size.   Juniors will work on the “Staying Fit” skills badge.  Cadettes will work on the “Trailblazing” badge.

    ​Do you love to stay up late? This camp is for you! We’ll stay up late, taking night hikes to explore the stars and enjoying nighttime swims. We’ll explore careers after dark and take a trip to someplace where workers are up at all hours of the night. You’ll work with your counselor to decide the perfect nighttime trip off
    camp. Could it be to Walmart or McDonald’s? We’ll make glow-in-the-dark crafts, go canoeing and cook over the camp fire. We’ll finish out the week with a camp-wide, glow-in-the-dark capture the flag game. Do you have what it takes to win?

    ​You’ll improve your riding skills and focus on drill team riding during these four daily riding and ground lessons. Gain control as you practice handling your horse around other horses and riding in
    formation. Become a true partner to both your new two-legged and four-legged friends. When you are not at the stables you’ll enjoy swimming and other traditional camp activi- ties. Juniors will work
    on the “Animal Habitat” badge.  Cadettes will work on the “Animal Helpers” badge. Prerequisite: At least one week of horse pro- gramming or equestrian manager approval for equivalent experience.     developing their leadership potential – learning new ways to interact with girls, how to use these skills after camp, and prep- ping for activities in the afternoon. In the afternoon, PAs will work
    with the younger girls moving through and providing direction during activities. After camp has shut down for the evening, PAs will have their own unique experience of craft, game, or pool time!

In this program, girls will learn about the many facets of relational aggression including cyberbullyiing, toxic friendships, risk factors, power and control, and the cycle of abuse. Girls will be given the tools to recognize what comprises a healthy relationship and how to avoid troublesome ones. They’ll learn how not to accept relational aggression from others, and to build better relationships with everyone around them.
