Why is the Girl Scout Cookie Program Important?
The Girl Scout Cookie program is much more than a fundraiser. It's a way for girls to earn money to realize their dreams, and it's a hands-on leadership and financial literacy program that begins with imagination. At the beginning of the sale girls will ask themselves, “What can we do for fun and learning with our cookie proceeds?” and “What can
we do with our Cookie Sale money to help others?”Whatever goals the girls choose to pursue, they will also build their leadership skills and improve their financial literacy as they discover, connect, and take action to make the world a better place. This cookie season, girls will have world of fun…while making a world of difference.
Where does my Cookie Money Go?
All of the proceeds—every penny—from Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia’s annual cookie activities remain in the council to serve girls and volunteers from our diverse communities through:
- Events, projects, and programs
- Recruitment and training of volunteer leaders
- Financial assistance to make Girl Scouting available to all girls
