By now you know that we were unsuccessful in our attempt to name the bridge across the Savannah River for Juliette Gordon Low. Although we didn’t get the result we were hoping for, I have never been more proud of you! Offering the name of our founder as an option for naming the bridge was something girls wanted to do, and they worked hard to make their voices heard. What they learned about the legislative process is the big win. Thank you to everyone who signed our petition, spoke to local leaders, visited the State Capitol, contacted their legislators, or asked others to join us in the effort. Your energy, courage and perseverance beautifully reflected Girl Scout values and personified the G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) spirit. When we raise our voices about issues that matter to us, we can make meaningful change in the world. Congratulations on a valiant effort!
